Our FFFFF (First Fall Folliage Float as a Family)

Mid-October, mama and daddy took me on my first overnight river trip. It was Kenny's annual Fall Folliage Float down the Colorado River on the Colorado/Utah border. The weather was beautiful, the trees were golden, and the company was sweet. These are a lot of photos, it was the kind of weekend that babies all over the world dream about...
Here's our crew - mama, me, Daisy, Daddy, and Duel (mama's cousin Marty's son). We were a great little craft. I tried really hard to wear my lifejackt to be a "safety baby" but I just couldn't swing it. Good news is I could float the whole rive in this beast and never even get close to the water!
I preferred my backup safety spot - the yellow rubber duck. We put the duck in the bottom of the raft and it gave me a place to sit, play, and even nap!

Here's the rest of the crew at the campsite - Kenny, Steve, and Brian (Tim is hanging out with me behind them). One thing's for certain, these guys know how to cook, AND host a great river party!
At night time we started a fire and huddled around it. Duel held me and kept me safe from the flames. It sure was beautiful, under all the stars, with the sounds of the river, and all my friends surrounding me - ah...a little baby's dream come true.

We set up a little play area - no dogs allowed - on the sand. Luckily, Tim kept me company. He preferred to "chill" while everyone else set up camp - at least that's what he told me. (I think he said not to tell anyone :).

Daddy was our captatin. His strong arms carried us all the way down the river. Look at those beautiful fall colors!

Our campsite was at Blackrock. The canyon was awesome. All babies should be this lucky...

Here we are in our tent. It's a little small, but we're a close knit kind of family. We snuggled up under our down comforter, on the air mattress (are those things supposed to leak?), and slept really well all night. It wasn't even very cold.

This video is entitled "River Baby" - just me, the guys, daddy, the dogs, mama, and the wilderness, all hanging out together.

And this one is titled "Killin' Time on the River" - you can see the river water slowy going by and the quiet sounds - except for the roaring that Duel and I would do together to kill time.
