On the Way to Oregon!

We spent a night in a small state campground on the southern border of Washington on the Columbia River. It was just a stop, but we (Olivia) had a great time at the playground.  Here is our popup in its 4th stop on the way!

O had us ordering food for hours in this playground!

Daisy loved it too...

Just one night here, then on to Oregon and the Pacific Coast!

Fun Family Pics...

Whitefish = Outside All the Time!!

As soon as we got to Whitefish, we were on a hike!  This is one of our favorite places - and Daddy's old stomping grounds - so it is always a great time.  On our first day, we went for a hike up to a lake.  Daddy jumped in off a cliff, then made time for snacks!

I practiced my kayaking skills - this is my PERFECT front draw stroke!

Here we are at Flathead Lake to watch the fireworks.  In this picture, it's already 10pm!  It got late so late way up north in Whitefish!

More hiking - and I just knew this dress was the perfect hiking outfit.  I didn't really want to be in the backpack on this hike, so it took a little while to get down the mountain.  But I did it!

While Daddy went kayaking, Mama took me to swim in Flathead Lake.  It was SOOOO cold.  We spent a lot of time on the beach until...

I decided to jump off the dock - TWICE!  This time mama caught me (uh, dunked me), but it's clear she is more freaked out than I am here!  I see a lot of jumping off docks in my future.

Nothing like a warm soak after a few jumps off the dock!

I got a lot of practice wearing my helmet in Whitefish...lots more to come in the next set of pictures!

On to Whitefish!

We traveled a total of 5500 miles this summer, with Olivia in her seat, Dan driving, and Danielle snapping pictures (and entertaining the two year old!).  It worked out better than we might have hoped.  Olivia was a champ and seemed excited for each day's adventures.  I think we all just loved being together and on the road.  If only we could spend our lives traveling the country, visiting friends and family, living in a pop-up...

First Stop...Bozeman, MT

We left Denver, spent one night in Wyoming - fierce winds but the pop-up withstood! - then on to Bozeman to see Uncle Andy, Aunt Shelly, Danika, and Kennedy.  We had a good time camping with them on a raging creek under lots of big tall trees.  We got one day on the river with the whole family, even though the rivers were really high.  The girls had fun playing together.  We left just before the 4th of July to spend time in Whitefish, MT.

Kennedy and Olivia admirining each other's babies...

We have plans for a pop-up montage photo compilation (we took pictures of the pop-up in all its glory all over the country!) but here is one of the first (the WY stop wasn't too impressive).  The trees were huge...we had the best stop in the campground, on the end away from other campers and right on the water.  It was so peaceful to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of a rushing creek (we can hear everything through the pop-up just like a tent, which we loved!).

 Like father, like daughter...

O did not hesitate to take the oars...both in the boat and on land.

Uncle Dan can carry all of them at once...we're sure Danika is hanging off his leg in this picture!

‎21 Roadside Stops, 5 False Alarms, 1 Accident, 0 Diapers, 5500 Miles in Big Grl Undies...Priceless

We Have A Lot of Catching Up To Do!!!

It was a long, fantastic summer and it's finally feeling like fall!  We are so behind with our blog but are hoping to get caught up now.  We took a five week road trip this summer all through the Pacific Northwest in our pop up camper.  It was everything we could have hoped and more.  Olivia was a super traveler and misses camping as much as we do.  Here is how the trip started...first night and O was so excited!  Her eyes say it all!
